EPC D to C Get a D-to-C Plan

About this site

epcdtoc.co.uk exists to answer one narrow question well: what is the cheapest reliable way to move a UK home from EPC band D to band C?

Why only D to C

Because it is the jump that matters most to the most people. D is the most common band in the English housing stock, C is the proposed future floor for rented homes, and the distance between them is usually 5 to 9 SAP points — small enough that the order you buy measures in changes the bill by thousands of pounds. General EPC advice tends to list every measure for every band; we rank measures for this jump specifically, by points gained per pound spent.

Where our numbers come from

Band thresholds and methodology details come from the published SAP and RdSAP documentation and government EPC guidance. Typical point gains per measure are planning ranges drawn from the published methodology, assessor practice and the indicative improvement figures printed on lodged certificates — which is why every gain on this site is stated as a range, never a promise. Costs are 2026 market ranges for standard properties; regional pricing varies and we say so. Policy positions — the proposed 2030 rental floor, EPC reform, VAT relief dates — are stated with their actual legal status. Where something is a consultation rather than law, we write "proposal", because the difference is worth money to you.

How the site is funded

The site is owned and operated by SEO Dons Ltd (Company No. 16766013, registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ), which runs a network of UK energy and property information sites. When readers request a plan through the plan form, we may refer the enquiry to vetted assessors or installers, some of whom pay referral fees. That funding model does not change the rankings on the measures page — the cheapest route to C is the cheapest route to C whether or not anyone is paid.
